Experience sensational dishes and wonderful surroundings at some of the top restaurants opening this autumn.
Bacchanalia, Mayfair
Mayfair’s Mount Street will be the setting for Bacchanalia’s contemporary Mediterranean cuisine in late 2022. A quartet of artworks by Damien Hirst will join ceiling frescoes in Richard Caring’s new restaurant which will feature a dining room, members’ area and rock crystal bar. The menu will spotlight seafood along with ingredients such as oysters, caviar and foie gras.
Koyn, Mayfair
Samyukta Nair, the restaurateur behind hit eateries MiMi Mei Fair and Bombay Bustle, brings Japanese cuisine to the redeveloped site of the former US Embassy in Mayfair. Koyn will feature two stunning dining rooms with a lower-ground floor inspired by a volcano and a ground-floor room inspired by lush mountains. Expect the finest sushi, sashimi and robatayaki when Koyn opens in mid-September.
Mayha, Marylebone
Mayha, an ambitious Japanese omakase restaurant with a sister site in Beirut, is set to open on Marylebone’s Chiltern Street in late 2022. Chefs Jurek Wasio and Yuichi Nakaya will create a multi-course culinary experience centred around fresh local produce and Japanese seafood. A curved stone counter with a custom-built light installation will overlook the kitchen and diners can enjoy sake and rare spirits in the hidden courtyard bar downstairs.
The Audley, Mayfair
The renovated Victorian building of The Audley in Mayfair will reopen in October 2022. It will house a new venture of the same name from Artfarm, the hospitality group behind Braemer’s The Fife Arms. Visitors will find a public house on the ground floor with a bar snack menu designed by former CUT executive chef Jamie Shears. The first floor will house Mount St. Restaurant serving dishes inspired by London’s culinary history with a choice of a classic or vegetable-based menu.
Frantzén, Knightsbridge
Björn Frantzén, whose Stockholm location features 25th on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list, will open his first UK restaurant at Harrods in Knightsbridge in late 2022. The state-of-the-art flagship restaurant is a major milestone for Harrods. Building on the reputation of three Michelin-starred restaurants Frantzén and Zén, the eatery will deliver an expertly-crafted fine dining experience.
