Fashion trends to consider in 2024

Fashion trends to consider in 2024

Ahead of next season’s runway shows, we take a look at the top luxury fashion trends to watch out for this year.

Expect the Understated with Quiet Luxury
The over-arching trend for 2024 will focus on quiet luxury – the understated, low-key items in luxe high-quality fabrics that deliver the flip-side from large logo trends of previous years. The insignia, patterns and logos of fashion houses and brands that we have become accustomed to seeing will be missing from these pieces. Instead, the fabrics, shapes and designs will speak for themselves.

Anticipate sharp tailoring throughout the year with fitted pieces including exaggerated shoulder silhouettes mixed with androgynous layering. With the revival of luxury workwear, plan to shop for capsule trousers and coats that epitomise smartness from brands such as Bottega Veneta.

Tone Down with Muted Colours
Understated key pieces will go hand-in-hand with a colour palette of muted tones. Brown, beige, etoupe and grey are timeless and easy to pair, allowing outfits to whisper with sartorial provenance rather than shout. The summer 2024 shows from Hermès illustrated the utility of this new scope of shades with pieces that can transition from season to season throughout the year. The most sought-after colours of Hermès bags, too, will be toned down throughout the coming months. Choose classic hues such as etain, trench, taupe and black to stay ahead of the trend.

Seek Out Clean, Well-Crafted Timepieces
In 2023, luxury watches were scaled down with smaller faces than in previous years. The most popular materials were titanium and platinum, making silver tones trendy for previous seasons. With watches slimmed down, clean designs will be preferred this year, with a focus on simplicity and craftsmanship. Lean towards silver and black for your latest timepiece but look out for striking mixed metals as seen on Versace’s Greca watches and the Rolex GMT-Master II.
